Note: The following information regarding this structure has been very kindly provided by Tony Hill:
“This is in fact Fodder Hut No. 44 erected by my father (and Tony Gamble of nearby Batworthy Farm ) whose flock of Scotch blackface sheep were reared on Stonetor and Langridge, in 1963 after the severe 1962/63 winter of deep snow and blizzards, as a precautionary measure for future similar bad winters so as to have a store of hay to feed to animals if a repeat occasion/need arose etc.
There are still some belongings of my father (1912 to 2005) left in this hut, which I make periodic visits to, and suppose I technically now own, eg Black waterproof, sheep minerals, kettle , baler cord, hammer, jar of jeyes fluid and some very basic first aid (15/3/22)”.
The structure is made of slowly rusting corrugated iron sheets. The roof is held down by a number of small granite rocks. Inside you can see from the photo there is a mixture of bric-a-brac.
