Notes: This rock beside the Devil’s Kitchen has what appears to be inscribed onto it “For those who love, time is eternity” facing the river. Nigel Machin supplies the following quote from American poet Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933): “Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those in love, time is an eternity.

Reference: Maria Whetman, on DARTMOOR 365 Facebook, spotted this interesting, little-known inscribed rock and kindly provided Dartefacts with a photo of the inscription. It is unknown at present what the words signify, so if anyone has any information then please Contact Dartefacts.
