This is a pretty substantial ruin that can be accessed by taking the trail through the Emsworthy Mire Nature Reserve. This valley is known as Snotter’s Bottom or Snodderbottom. It is served by a number of boardwalks to avoid the wet ground.

On the Dartmoor HER, we learn that: “Holwell Manor [is a] deserted Medieval site consisting of two longhouses (one adjoining the modern barn) and the remains of another building nearby, all within an enclosure.
