Teignhead Farm ‘Stroll’
Notes: This rather grand entrance drive leads to Teignhead Farm Ruin from the clapper bridge of the same name. In the mist, it really is quite a sight. Atmospheric. A photograph in Eric Hemery’s book ‘High Dartmoor’ labels this as a ‘stroll’, so presumably at some point it acted as a way for animals to move towards the farm from the moorland.
Teignhead Farm Ruin Slotted Gateposts
Notes: These magnificent slotted gateposts are quite easy to find. One of them (see below image) was sketched by John Hayward (1991) in ‘Dartmoor 365’.
