These are the principal settlements on Dartmoor and its immediate periphery. Towns and Villages contain lots to interest the visitor (or even the inhabitant!): shops, pubs, cafes, churches, schools, accommodation, etc. In larger settlements, especially around the edge, tourist information centres can be found, as well as train stations (Okehampton and Ivybridge) and further amenities. In order to be listed as such on Dartefacts, each Village and Town must contain a place of worship and a central meeting point.
