I’m not entirely sure if this is actually B.M. 155.0 since Side by Side show it as being on the north corner of the building, and facing north-west, yet this one is not facing north-west nor is it on the corner of the building. I reckon that the marked benchmark was destroyed because this building made of brick looks quite modern in comparison to other buildings in Exeter with benchmarks inscribed.
Benchmarks cut on bricks seem to almost always date to 1949-1969 – or at least that’s the date of the OS Maps marking most of them. The below image shows the benchmark’s proximity to the building corner – not as far from the corner as I first thought.
