Notes: Steve Grigg on Dartmoor 365 Facebook has kindly supplied Dartefacts with the information for this item as well as the ‘Featured Image’, stating: “RH Worth described this as a potato cave. Eric Hemery, however, argued there were signs of corbelling (as seen in beehive huts) and stated it was a tinners’ cache (aka vooga in Devon or fougou in Cornwall) for miners’ tools from the Keaglesborough Mine.” For this reason, this item is classified under both for ease of searching the database.
