Possible Boundary Stone? This stone would have been right on the edge of the proposed Reservoir in this area.. (see Capped Boreholes).
Comment (Steve Grigg): “The Hart Tor “Boundary Stone” is recorded on the HER (MDV62294) as most probably a Tinners’ Bound stone (it is by the Hart Tor open tinworks). I don’t think it had anything to do with the proposed reservoir. It is also mentioned by Sandy Gerrard in his paper on Hart Tor tinworks, viz: “The upright stone standing east of the openworks may represent a boundary marker erected to denote the legal boundary of the tinwork” (fig 9, page 16)”.
