The Holwell Brook is that little feeder of the Becka Brook that passes under only one road, the one between Swallerton Gate (Hound Tor) and Harefoot Cross. The Brook is indeed small, but it has a picturesque course; as it descends it enters into a pretty mire that is part of the greater Emsworthy Mire complex.
