Sigford is an old hamlet, nestled within a rarely seen valley where the Langworthy Brook and River Sig meet the River Lemon. It comprises some fine thatched cottages. “First mentioned in 1086 the Domesday Book as the manor of ‘Sigeforda’ although it is likely to have been in existence earlier than this.”
