The Ted Hughes Memorial Stone is an inscribed slab of granite on a grassy mound, just below Taw Head. The infant River Taw here wraps itself around the west side of the mound between thick tussocks, meaning the simplest way to reach this spot is probably from Hangingstone Hill on a path (of sorts). The more adventurous can approach from Taw Ford, but this tackles boggy and unpleasant terrain.
