Notes: This is a memorial plaque on a boulder beside the restored cross on Ter Hill, or Terril. The original cross, which now resides in the Jack Wigmore Memorial Garden in Princetown, was stolen by a farmer for his farmyard when, having been told by the Duchy to put it back, threw it in its original spot. It was deemed to vulnerable and so was placed in the visitor centre garden for preservation purposes, with a new cross being erected in the original location. Tom Gant loved Dartmoor and wrote about the subject, and this memorial is dedicated to him.
