This item has been reported missing for quite a few years. Using the GPS to walk in a direct line, to the midpoint of Nos. 16 and 18 I arrived at a shallow old ‘leat’ that seemed to be designed to take water away from Doe Tor Brook and to towards the tin workings near to No.18. It is postulated that No.17 was placed next to this leat and as it would get filled with water and the soil would likely get quite damp this caused No.17 to fall over. It is quite possible that just under the soil at this location No.17 lies buried?
