Mary Tavy/ Tavistock/ Lamerton – Millenium Stone

Acknowledgement: NGR and photographs kindly supplied by Sarah Clough.

This is where the three parishes meet. It is inscribed MM for Millennium as the stone (like several others) was erected in 2000 to commemorate the New Millennium.

Ferns

For this square, John Hayward chose Ferns. These can be seen all over Dartmoor, but are not to be confused with bracken which consists of several small stems emanating from the principle stem. Ferns, on the other hand, all sprout from a central base. Admittedly, those pictured are bracken!

Along this quiet lane also stands a marvellous granite milestone (listed here).
