Sometimes known as Penn Moor and Shavercombe Head. This photo, taken at SX 60256 64590, is believed to be the exact 493m spot height where the OS survey was taken for the hill, which is the third highest on Dartmoor after Snowdon and Ryder’s Hill.
Most people visit this desolate location for the trig point between Langcombe Hill and Shell Top.
As has been already announced the Dartefacts website will soon become a paid subscription site. In order to thoroughly test this development we will need to pause the login system for approximately one week. Registered users will still be able to access the site during this test period, but they won’t be able to view or use registered user content (such as the ten figure ordnance survey grid references or tick visited Dartefacts and Squares etc.) Non-registered users will not notice any change.
Therefore ‘Test Week’ (login paused) will occur during the first week of April and Subscriptions begin on Monday 8th April.
