Lamerton Lane Marker

Acknowledgement: John Deakins kindly supplied both the NGR and details for this item.

Not a peat pass marker but listed as one because it’s relevant to the area, guiding travellers through the thick peat.

This is some of the worst ground on the moor according to Eric Hemery. In truth, when Max Piper and Paul Rendell visited in May 2022, they found the going rather simple, but this was after a prolonged dry spell.

Cut Lane Stream Head

Notes: ‘Cut Hill Stream’, the name still used on modern OS maps, is an error: it should read as ‘Cut Lane Stream’ after the nearby peat pass.
