Whittaburrow Combe
Reference: Eric Hemery (1983) in High Dartmoor where he writes: “The valley here seems anciently to have been known as ‘Whittaburrow Combe’, the name ‘Whiteburghcombe’ occurring in 1400.” Below Ruddycleave Bridge, Blackslade Water becomes Ruddycleave Water and happily leaps towards Dart.
