Possible Cider Press below Emsworthy Rocks

Visited Friday 12th April 2024.

Whilst looking for a boundary rock I came across this curiously shaped rock. It looks to me to have been worked, though feather and tare marks could not be discerned. Is this just a very strange natural rock amid the clitter? It looks like a cider press. MP

Western Quarry (Emsworthy West Quarry)

Notes: Many thanks to Steve Grigg for supplying the following: “This quarry comes in two parts and is 700m (or so) from Harrow Barrow / Emsworthy Rocks (East). With a bit of exploration, the granite tramway can be followed to the two quarried areas here. Indeed the lowest of the two has a lovely crane base.
