Another micaceous hematite mine, worked up until the mid 20th Century, for ‘shiny ore’, used in rust-resistant paint. Hawkmoor was mined on a small scale, with a few adits in the hillside and further evidence beside Bullaton Stream. Please note that public access is by landowner permission.
