Clive Darke: ‘For the East Okement you can usually, during a weekday, park at Fatherford, which is the place suggested by Max Piper. The turning off the main road is next to the railway bridge on the Exeter side of town. Alternatively consider parking at the head of Cullever Steps. Take the road past the army camp, straight up the hill. Ignore the large car park at the top of the hill on the right (keep left). When the hill begins the descend look for a small car park on your left, before another bridge. If you can’t park at Fatherford, Okehampton Station is a good alternative. It is an easy walk down through Tramlines Wood to Fatherford.’
