Sometimes ‘Gobbet’ is spelt with one ‘t’, but other times two. There are a number of ruins here, all very dilapidated with only the walls of the cottages remaining, and to the west the crazing mill with millstones and mortar/ mould stones. There is a tunnel entrance visible nearer the cattle grid which is inscribed ‘PUDC 1929’ (Paignton Urban District Council).
