Max Piper explains: This fabulous T.W.M. stone had been buried for probably decades until it was eventually found by Max Piper in December 2022. The stone was buried beneath dense vegetation so it had to be cleared. It is one in the series running between Tottiford Reservoir and Torquay. They denote an old pipeline that provided water from the old mill at Tottiford to the then tiny population of Torquay, which was replaced by Dartmoor’s oldest reservoir, again at Tottiford, in 1861 due to growing demand.
