Notes: This is a beautiful valley on South Dartmoor, with cascading waters that create a sense of being. There are only a couple of notable features in this valley for the Dartefacter: Rabbits Tor at the top end and Workings near the bottom. A quite sheltered spot Sunshine Valley has to be one of the most peaceful spots on Dartmoor that requires minimal effort to reach.
Reference for Name: Eric Hemery ‘High Dartmoor’.

Notes: Likely tinners’ workings, this area is a mix of granite clitter and, presumably, tinners’ streaming.

Notes: This is the generally accepted location for Rabbits Tor, a small pile in Sunshine Valley.
Reference: Steve Granger for kindly supplying the image.
OS Maps show Swincombe Head in this vicinity, but as Hemery and subsequently Harvey’s will tell you, the Head is further east. Thanks go to Steve Granger for bringing up this error.
