SE of Hawthorn Clitter. Inscribed G.

SE of Hawthorn Clitter. Inscribed GP.

On the old OS map (sidebyside) there is a BS (Boundary Stone) marked to the NW of this rock’s location (within Hawthorn Clitter). Whether that indicates there were/are(?) two Boundary Stones within this area I am unsure as I could not find the Hawthorn Clitter BS – only this one. (RJN)

On the old OS maps (sidebyside) there is a B.S (Boundary Stone) indicated as existing within Hawthorn Clitter. I first thought this might be the Gidleigh Parish Boundstone – but I found that 100 m further away to the SE. I did not manage to find a BS within Hawthorn Clitter so at present I am uncertain whether it just no longer exists, does exist but has fallen over and I cannot locate it or perhaps that the map is incorrect and the BS should have been marked as being to the SE – i.e. the BS on the map is the GP Boundstone?
