Petre’s Clapper Bridge (373 m)

Notes: On maps this is just labelled ‘Clapper Bridge’ but to help with listing I decided to name it ‘Petre’s Bridge’ as it is very close to Petre’s Cross on Western White Barrow. (RJN)

Also known as Huntingdon Warren Clapper Bridge.

Small ‘B’ Shaped Building at Wheal Dorothy Mine

Reference: Old map and satellite image. Original grid reference SX 65071 66622.

Update (28/02/20): Steve Grigg posted some images on the Dartmoor Information Exchange Facebook Group (with the updated grid reference) asking about the purpose of this structure. Using various sources, including Historic England, it was deduced that this structure is part of the disused Wheal Dorothy Mine. It is not connected to the Redlake China Clay Works.
