Described as being on a levelled area a few feet above stream level (Taviton Brook), ‘Joe’s Cottage’ is reputed to have been the birthplace of Joe Pengelly. He later lived at Kelly’s Cottage at Pennycomequick and died aged 96 shortly before the 2nd world war. The Cottage is not shown on 19th century maps and the author has “assumed” a location having explored the area extensively. The location is by no means definitive…
