The Tors of Dartmoor website, utilising a Dartmoor Magazine article by Tim Jenkinson entitled ‘The Mary Meynell Story: A Review of the Literature’ (Issue 137, Winter 2019), confirms that the name is Mary and not Margaret as many wrongly assume. This is a granite pedestal sat atop an outcrop of rock near Brent Moor House.
