The North Bovey Moorland Boundary Markers , km, m ascent
Notes: A prominent stone beside the track to Headland Warren Farm and below Firth Bridge. It appears to be inscribed with a large, deeply incised ‘B’ and could be one of the Warren Bound (WB) stones. Not technically on Hookney Down but listed as such for ease of reference.
Steve Grigg (Dartmoor Explorations), however, believes this could be a North Bovey/Manaton parish boundstone. At about 50m south of the boundary, the stone may have been moved. (MP comment, September 2022)
Reference: Many thanks to Sheron Vowden and Steve for information on this.
