Observation Post/ OP 20.

Demolished. No remains found. A photo in John Deakins’ book ‘Dartmoor Observation Posts‘ shows that this OP was once part involved in the tor, obscuring part of its southern face. John gives SX 5862 8809.

John also explains its appearance: “This was completely unique being a block building with two rooms and a cast concrete roof built freestanding directly in front of Dinger tor… this was a large scale demolition and was carried out during the summer of 1993 which firstly stripped the stone covering leaving the block carcass which was taken down whilst the roof was supported then the base was taken away.
