Broadall Lake Falls and Pools

This spot is sublime. Here the beautiful Broadall Lake quickly leaves the high moor via a series of picturesque falls and pools that would make for a lovely glade on a warm, summer’s day. This area is also a 365 item.

Old, Gnarly Tree beside Broadall Lake

This is a wonderful tree; never have I seen one so hunched over on the moor. I reckon that in the mist this would be an eerie place, exposed and tricky to shelter in.

Upper Yealm Valley

The Yealm is one of South Dartmoor’s most splendid rivers, for although it has a much shorter course than the Plym, Erme and Avon boasts the stunning Dendles Wood and Yealm Steps. Tin workings abound and this is a most picturesque corner of the moor that, due to its lack of nearby car parks, offers complete solitude.
