Acknowledgement: Brought to our attention by Steve Grigg of Dartmoor Explorations; “Internally, the Longhouse measures 18.1 metres long by 4.7 metres wide with coursed boulder walls 0.7 metres wide and a maximum of 0.7 metres high. It is a delightfully peaceful spot.“ Also take a look at Venford Medieval Farmstead.
This medieval farmstead is in such good condition today because it was cleared over many years by Paul Rendell and other volunteers.
‘Wennaford Bottom’ is an older name given by William Crossing.

It’s unclear where this ford was/ is. Perhaps it is now submerged under the reservoir, or maybe it is where the old sluice and current wooden footbridge lie? Venford Brook here has been channelled.
