There are a number of inscriptions on this prominent rock on the summit of Wigford Down, near Dewerstone Rock.  Perhaps the most notable is this memorial inscription to Nicholas (a.k.a Noel) Toms Carrington (1777-1830) a famous Dartmoor poet.
