Once conveying china clay slurry from Cadover to Shaugh Bridge via one or two pipelines, these following the course of the path (or was it the other way around?). The pipes are very broken nowadays in part due to the regular footfall in North Wood and on West Down. There are a few inspection points along the route and it makes for a very enjoyable walk.
