This is one of the most beautiful stretches of Double Dart Country. Eric Hemery (1983), author of ‘High Dartmoor‘, consistently uses the name of ‘Broada Stones’ to refer to this stretch of water, yet the Ordnance Survey display ‘Broadstone’ instead. Whatever name is more authentic, this area abounds in rock basins atop exposed granite bedrock, which is likely submerged when the river is in spate where you will see more kayakers than walkers braving the already difficult stony paths that lead here.
