Hamlets on Dartefacts are defined as anything more substantial than a Habitation (which is typically one or two buildings). Hamlets are basically Villages (but are often smaller) that lack a place of worship and central meeting place. That is the key differentiation, hence why Dousland is a Hamlet but Harford is a Village. Several Hamlets are worthy of being called a Village, and usually are, but may not possess a church or chapel.
