Although a large and important longhouse the remains of the walls are now almost totally obscured by vegetation.  Heritage Gateway refers to it as “Remains of a Medieval longhouse at Blackslade to the north of Blackslade Ford which may have been the Domesday manor of ‘Blacheslac’. This site is included in the local list of Nationally Important Dartmoor sites“.

It used to have an information plate on an upright stone, but this is no more, the stone now blank.
