The Emsworthy Enclosures, surrounding the ruined farmstead, are best-known for what is arguably the most magnificent bluebell display on Dartmoor, even rivalling nearby Holwell Lawn. In mid-to-late May, the fields here are a carpet of blue, standing out from miles around. It is a breathtaking place at all times of the year, and affords a unique viewpoint at the head of Hound Tor Combe.
You can explore the rest of the Emsworthy Mire Nature Reserve by taking the waymarked trails, as depicted on the information boards dotted around the main entrances.
