Notes: This isn’t the original waterwheel, it is a replica from Newton Abbot that is believed to be slightly smaller than the original. The excellent book, ‘Gentlemen and Rogues –  A History Of Brimpts Tin Mine, Dartmeet, Dartmoor’ by the Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group (DTRG), provides some fascinating details about the mine.

Although on private land the mine workings at Brimpts are accessible to the public by following the Brimpts Tin Mines Trail, established by Peter Hirst in the mid 1990s. It is now looked after by volunteers from the DTRG.
