Visiting the Devil’s Cauldron is not for the faint-hearted. Although extensive repairs have taken place for it to reopen for autumn 2022 after storm damage, there is still a section without a fence and it is not for those who are afraid of heights. It is a surreal experience to be down in the ‘dungeon’; if you are lucky enough to be alone it is even more atmospheric. On all sides water drips down rock faces. The Cauldron itself is breathtaking and beguiling, the sound amplified by the enclosed space.
