A bit of a weird one this… but included because this row of trees is a prominent landmark beside the enjoyable track ascending from Dean Burn to the foot of Gripper’s Hill; the eastern side of Lambs Down. The area as a whole is quite special; all is quiet and there are wonderful views to the north with, during my visit, miniature ponies across the boundary fence.
