This plaque commemorates Dartmoor National Park celebrating its 70th anniversary. The National Park, one of the first in Britain, was established in 1951 and 2021 marked 70 years since then. At around the same time the Visitor Centre at Postbridge was completely rebuilt and is now, perhaps, the best of the three, with others at Princetown and Haytor. The Visitor Centre stocks Dartmoor books, magazines and contains a wealth of information.
