Eric Hemery, Walking the Dartmoor Waterways, p.67; “The sluice here was, by agreement with the Hamlyn management, operated to admit water on one day in each year into the gutter; branches of the latter were also closed to augment the head of water, which then turned a waterwheel at Holne Court for driving threshing machinery.”

Reference: Steve Grigg, via DARTMOOR 365 (Facebook Group), has kindly supplied Dartefacts with the information and NGR for this item, crediting Dave Brewer who wrote two articles in Dartmoor Magazine (Issue 4 – Autumn 1986 and Issue 7 – Summer 1987) for inspiring Steve’s exploration in July 2020.
