There is a dispute among the various Dartmoor antiquarians about whether there was a chapel at Willsworthy or not.  It seems likely that there was a building that served as a chapel of rest and hostel for those carrying coffins along the Lych Way.  If so, it would probably have been the only one on the route.  It has been suggested that the ‘Trefoil Light’ (i.e. stone mullion window) in Higher Willsworthy Barn originated in the old chapel, but again the evidence is circumstantial.  It could equally have come from the original Willsworthy manor.  The OS map of 1904 gives the ‘site of’ the Chapel at the reference above.  This is on private land and there is nothing to be seen at ground level.
