Notes: Steve Grigg provides the following information, referencing EA Wade; “Brent Moor Clay Company was formed in 1872. The former Knattabarrow clay works became known as Petre’s Pits and used the old Zeal Tor Tramway, which was part of the earlier peat extraction from Red Lake. The old naphtha works at Shipley was converted to clay dries. The whole operation was abandoned in 1880.”
