Yealm Head is where three infant streams (that are not really depicted on OS Maps) meet to form the river itself amid an abundance of extensive tinners’ workings. This photo was taken from the west hillside showing the extent of the head with even more out of shot to the left. You will often find that in summer the streamlets are dry.
