This seems rather out of place, given this minor road isn’t even classified. It reads 8 MILES FROM TOTNES which is roughly correct but this minor road, to my knowledge, has no other MSs which is unusual. Shipley Bridge, up the road, is a remote county bridge denoted by two ‘C’ stones, but other than that this MS makes no sense! I believe it may have been sited elsewhere and is not in situ, especially as it is not marked on any old map. Any thoughts, please contact Dartefacts!
