Reference: Steve Grigg, via DARTMOOR 365 (Facebook Group), has kindly supplied Dartefacts with the information and NGR for this item, crediting Jeremy Butler’s ‘Atlas of Antiquities (North)’ and Dr Phil Newman. The former uses West Vitifer Mine whilst the latter chooses New Vitifer Mine. The former also uses the ‘River Bovey’ for the area although ‘Boveycombe’ is favoured by the latter, and the Ordnance Survey use ‘North Walla Brook’ only for ‘Hurston Water’ to be favoured by the locals.
