Observation Post/ OP 18.
The grid reference, left photograph and details for this item were kindly supplied by Nigel Machin on DARTMOOR 365 Facebook who noted that a sketch of this Observation Post (OP) is featured in Dartmoor 365 by John Hayward; however, since the book was published, the OP is no more; just a pile of rubble.
Described by John Deakins as having been built into the east side of Steeperton Tor, this OP was “a small granite hut covered with rocks and turf. It had a small concrete blast wall with 2 steps but no grab rail.”
