A ‘Preda’ is an area of particularly good grazing on the high moor, in an area that is surrounded on all sides by tussocky grass and bog. In this case, Preda de Crewtor encompasses the area around Crow Tor, where, between the vast streams of clitter, the grass is much shorter and drier.
