I went wild swimming this week, taking my father to Whiteworks and the river Swincombe. Whilst on the river I started exploring some boulders near to ‘The Boiler’ and discovered a way to crawl inside. I used to do a lot of caving so this wasn’t as scary as it might sound! Once inside the crawl opened up to reveal a space big enough to sit in. Water was falling in different channels and sunlight was streaming through through small gaps in the boulders. It was utterly magical, a hidden grotto. I found a way of climbing out up through the boulders using a sort of chimney of rocks. Amazing. I took a lot of photos!
